Comments

Objection to Promotional Emails

BOOKING OF KAYAK EXCURSIONS, EQUIPMENT RENTAL, COURSES AND RECREATIONAL DIVES

For the activities you wish to carry out with Papagayo Watersports, it is recommended—but not mandatory—to reserve your spot. If you do not book in advance, you will be subject to availability. If you wish to secure your place for any of our activities, we require a 50% deposit at the time of reservation. The remaining 50% must be paid before the start of the contracted activity. The 50% deposit is non‑refundable.

INSURANCE AND MEDICAL CLEARANCE FOR DIVERS

Divers are required to have medical insurance that covers the activity they intend to perform, as well as to complete a medical questionnaire to determine whether they are fit for underwater activities. If the diver does not meet the questionnaire requirements, a medical certificate (valid for a maximum of one year) must be provided.

If the diver does not have insurance covering diving activities, we offer the option to purchase dive insurance or extend their existing medical coverage to include this type of activity.

Each diver is responsible for having the appropriate diving certification for the level required by the activity. If the diver does not have the appropriate certification, or if the dive leader determines that the client is not qualified to perform the activity, Papagayo Watersports reserves the right of admission.

Any information provided by the user when registering with Papagayo Watersports will be processed under legal standards and obligations, and safeguarded with appropriate security measures to protect the data from alteration, loss, misuse, or unauthorized access.

If at any time you wish to be removed from our database, you may request it by sending an email explaining why you wish your information to be deleted.

DIVING EQUIPMENT RENTAL

For contracted diving services, the weight belt, weights, and air tank (10, 12, or 15 liters) are included in the price. All other diving equipment is included as well.

It is the diver’s responsibility to return the equipment to the dive center in the same condition in which it was provided. In case of loss, Papagayo Watersports may require the diver to pay for the cost of the lost equipment.

GROUP BOOKINGS AND CONDITIONS

Special conditions apply to Dive Clubs and groups of 10 divers. We offer private boats for groups with a minimum of 10 people. If any diver in the group decides not to participate in the contracted dives due to reasons beyond the control of Rubicon Diving, the responsibility lies with the group and not with Rubicon Diving. In such cases, payment for all contracted dives is considered mandatory.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Bookings for aquatic activities that are not diving‑related (kayak rental and excursions) may be cancelled up to 48 hours before the activity, and 100% of the amount will be refunded.

Between 48 and 24 hours prior, 50% of the total will be refunded.

If a diving course is contracted and cannot be completed for reasons beyond the company’s control, the course cost cannot be exchanged for dives. If the theoretical portion of the course has been acquired and/or delivered, it cannot be exchanged or refunded, nor replaced with dives.

Any change or cancellation of a booking must be submitted in writing and confirmed by Papagayo Watersports. Cancellation fees will apply according to the date and conditions under which the cancellation was made:

• All money paid for services contracted with Papagayo Watersports will be refunded if the activity is cancelled by the dive center, regardless of the reason.
• All money paid minus 10% for administrative costs will be refunded if the diver cancels more than 5 days before the activity. If the cancellation is made 4 days or less before the scheduled activity, NO refund will be issued.
• In the case of a medical problem, 50% of the amount paid will be refunded only if valid documentation is provided proving the temporary or permanent medical condition preventing the diver from diving. Without medical proof, the deposit will not be refunded.
• If services were contracted by a third party and the individual cannot participate, they are not entitled to compensation.

Once the client is on board our vessel, no refunds will be issued if the activity (dive, course, or charter) cannot be carried out for reasons not related to Papagayo Watersports, such as: seasickness, equalization issues, colds, problems with personal equipment, or any other circumstance beyond our control.

Payment of the deposit is required to reserve any of our activities and implies that the client has read and agrees to the previously established general conditions.
